What is causing my itching?

The causes of itching are numerous.  Some common causes include allergic reactions, dry skin, eczema, parasitic infection such as pinworms or scabies.  More serious causes can include underlying medical disease and systemic allergic reactions.

What can I do to make it go away?

You may try warm baths, cold compresses or topical lotions to help alleviate your symptoms.  However, if your itching is persistent or severe, you need to talk to your Dermatologist to help you determine the cause and most effective treatment regimen for your itching

What can the Dermatologist do?

Your Dermatologist is a skin specialist. Not only will they help you determine the cause, but can provide specific medications, such as steroid creams, to help calm the symptoms.
