What is Rosacea?

Rosacea is a common skin condition that results in redness of the nose, cheeks, and forehead and tiny blood vessels on the face. Rosacea is estimated to affect 16 million Americans, many of whom say it impacts their confidence and self-esteem.

What causes Rosacea?

Rosacea’s cause is largely unknown-theories include increased leakiness of the blood vessels, nervous system dysfunction, and certain microbes. Regardless of the cause, its appearance is   Flare-ups can be triggered by sun exposure, spicy foods, emotional stress, alcohol, exercise to name a few. It is usually diagnosed clinically based on the appearance and characteristics of the skin.
